The Defence Headquarters has disclosed that it handed over 162 herdsmen to the police for investigation into alleged ties that the suspects can have with Libya.
The appearing Director, Defence understanding, Brig.-Gen. John Agim, was once reacting to the recent assertion by means of President Muhammadu Buhari that the herdsmen had robust hyperlinks with Libya and had been proficient as hitmen via late Muammar Gaddafi.
The DHQ, in its breakdown, said 147 herdsmen have been handed over to the Benue State Police Command, whilst 15 had been handed over to the Taraba State Police Command in view that the Operation Ayem Akpatuma began on February 15.
Agim told newsmen on Saturday that the troops recovered weapons and other weapons from the herdsmen and locals in the ongoing army undertaking.
