Anthony Joshua calls out Deontay Wilder moments after defeating Joseph Parker

Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker.

There's no doubt - Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker took part in the biggest heavyweight fight in, arguably, decades.

Parker brought his WBO title to the dance while Joshua put up his WBA (super), IBF and IBO heavyweight titles on the line as both men vied to become unified champions.

WBC champion Deontay Wilder is waiting in the wings and it appears a fight to crown an undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for the first time since Lennox Lewis in 2000 in within out sights.

Wilder will have been pleased with what he saw at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, too.

Joshua entered this bout as the favourite with the bookmakers and could be found at quite an overwhelming 2/11.

Parker was an 11/2 underdog and although the New Zealand-born champion attempted to dictate the pace early, Joshua took the centre of the ring almost immediately in the first round.

As the early rounds passed, it became evident that AJ was in control and Parker was struggling to get within range of the 28-year-old. However, the Kiwi upped his work rate in the middle rounds and, suddenly, we had a real fight.

Joshua would reassert himself on the fight and with the referee too quick to break up some interesting skirmishes, it became clear this fight would go the distance, and it did.

Joshua came out the unanimous victor, but what he did after the fight got pulses racing.

Speaking straight after his victory, AJ confirmed that he wanted to unify the heavyweight division and taking a page from stablemate Dilian Whyte's book, AJ said: "Wilder, let's go, baby! Let's go!"

When asked about what he would have to do to beat Wilder, AJ said: "Get him in the ring and I'll knock him spark out."

AJ now has four of the five belts on offer in the heavyweight division, but it was interesting that Wilder decided to sit back in America rather than get in the ring with AJ after the fight.

Do you think the fight will happen?
