5 Dies in Renewed Cult Clashes In Edo Over The Weekend

A renewed cult conflict within the weekend has reportedly claimed five lives, including the two folks killed in Auchi, Etsako West regional executive area (LGA) when two suspected rival cult organizations clashed. It was gathered that a medicine store retailer proprietor along Igbei street and a generator mechanic were among the many dead victims of the clash. IPOB protests continued detention of members dailypost.ng Dec 6, 2017 4:07 PM The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has protested the continued detention of its members in various detention facilities across the country as a result what it referred to as, ‘long and indiscriminate adjournment’ of matters against its members. The protest came after Wednesday’s adjournment of a matter instituted against its leader, Mr Nnamdi Kanu, and two other members before the Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court in Abuja. The country, which has come under fire in some quarters for its acceptance of refugees fleeing war and hardship in various Muslim-majority countries, now wants to give rejected asylum-seekers a one-time payment of $3,570 to go home. The Interior Ministry says those who qualify can apply by a Feb. 28 deadline and they would get the money once they return home. Migrants who agree to go back even before their asylum request is rejected have already been offered money under a different program for almost a year. They would now be eligible to apply for both programs. Former president of Yemen Killed....

Former President killed trying to flee Former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed Monday by Houthi rebels as he tried to flee clashes with his allies-turned-foes in the capital. Saleh's death at the hands of his former allies diminished hopes of an end to the country's protracted conflict and sparked fears of further bloodshed in rebel-held Sanaa. Two days earlier, Saleh announced the end of a three-year alliance with the Iranian-backed Houthis. He said he wanted to "turn the page" on relations with the Saudi-led coalition that launched a military intervention against the Houthis in Yemen in 2015, leading to a crippling blockade of the country. The Saudi coalition welcomed the move and granted Saleh's forces air support in ensuing clashes with the rebels. But for Saleh, known for his political cunning, the gamble proved to be a fatal move.
